SIEAM REAP is a gateway for tourist trips to the most fabulous monuments ever build by mankind, the temple of Angkor Wat - one of the Seven Wonders of the World and symbol of Cambodia State. Angkor Wat is dedicated to the God Vichnu with whom king Suryavarman was intergrated on his death, this face gives the approximate date of the monument which being unfinished, was probably built under the reign of the King (1112-1182). The outside wall of the temple surrounded by ditches 190 meters wide. Forming a vast rectangle 1300 meters, there sandstone borders, with steps and curbs are more than 10 km long an 3 meters high. Its took 37 years with more than 25000 labors to complete. |
